Candidate Profiles

Joseph C. Schilp, Jr. | Mayoral Candidate

Joe is seeking the mayoral seat because he believes as so many of us do that the municipal budget and resulting increased taxes continue to spiral out of control under the reckless spending of the current mayor.

Joe is a Senior Video Production Specialist for Giants Stadium/Izod Center. He has been working in the field of video production for 19 years. During the years in his chosen profession, Joe has been privileged to direct entertainment crews in video production and/or events for a variety of professional and amateur sports events including the 1999 FIFA WomanÕs World Cup, the 2002 and 2003 NBA Finals, the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals and the 2000 NFC Championship Game and many other high profile events. Gene Bozzo | Council At Large

Gene Bozzo is seeking a seat on the council because he believes that the present governing body is unresponsive to the needs of the community they are elected to serve and puts special interests over those of their constituents. With townspeople burdened by ever-increasing taxes, Gene sees the pressing need for a balanced governing body that can only occur with a two-party system of governance allowing for checks and balance.

Gene has been a partner of Marketing & Promotions, an advertising company in South Plainfield for the past 15 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University, an MBA in Marketing from Chadwick University and a Certification in Business Communication.

A former president of the N.J. Business Marketing Association, Gene currently serves as the organization's treasurer. He is a member of the Piscataway High School Booster Club.
